In a lot of ways this feels like your first Thanksgiving. This is the first year that you truly understand and are excited to celebrate with family, are interested in crafts and projects, and are able to really vocalize what you are thankful for.
I came across this little turkey craft to do with you. It was clear that you enjoyed it when you asked me if I would take your picture with it. You are so dynamic and funny!
The turkey we created together turned out really cute, but I really love the second version that you cut, glued, and decorated all by yourself.
Everyday I asked you what you were thankful for, and everyday you surprised me. The one word answers I assumed would cover the feathers turned out to be such thoughtful sentiments.
One of Daddy and I's greatest joys is to nurture how you are learning to express thankfulness for not only things that you have been given, but also for the ways that people in your life love and serve you. Throughout the year we ask, "Addison, how can you show that you have a thankful heart?" We ask you this because helping you develop a heart of gratitude, and a character that remembers to express it, is so important to us. This mindset will help you view your life in such a positive light and help you to discern what holds true value. As fun as it is to see you soaking in this season of Thanksgiving, we pray that this one day a year grows small in comparison to the eternal gratitude you have for how God created you and loves you.
Happy Thanksgiving, Addison Jane!
Love,
Mama
