Dear Dodson,
Today you are 16 month old and are looking like less of a baby and more like a little boy! I would never have guessed that our tricky infant would turn into such an easy going, joyful, adventurous toddler. Logically I knew you would be an altogether different experience than our first time around; the reality is that you bring new developmental surprises into our lives almost daily.
If only my memory could hold every detail of this phase...how your little voice sounds when you are working on a new word, the exact humor in the way you lift your knees and stick out your chest when you walk, or the look of mischief in your eyes when you are standing on something that isn't safe. There are too many nuances to capture, but here are some of my favorites that I have:
Your personality is so dynamic. Silliness is always ready to bubble out of you!
We are engaged in an ongoing competition known as "Toilette Throw". You are winning.

I love how curious you are, and how you remind me that it’s time to clean the floors 😜.
I Love being your Mama!💙
At your 15 month check up you were 32.5 inches tall and weighed 23 pounds and 12 ounces. At 16 months you are wearing 24 month clothes. Growing so fast!
Most every morning we have some sweet cuddle time before our day really begins. You bring joy to even the earliest ones.
I think that "Dada" is your favorite word. You say it with such enthusiasm! Usually your exclamation point at the end looks a lot like a big hug.😍
You light up when you see all of your grandparents and they delight in you! You can say "Nana", said "Pa" (for Paka) for the first time tonight, and are working on saying "Mema".
No one brings laughter, frustration, or playfulness out of you like your sister does. Your bond to each other is beautiful and grows everyday. Seeing you two interact helps me find endurance in the moments that I grow weary of helping you both learn to love each other well.
You are SO loved, Dodson David. Your Dada and I thank God for you everyday!
Love,
Mama
